It can be the best of holidays.  There are no gifts. Heading out for Friendsgiving (out at the bar on Wednesday). Not forgetting that there is a lot to eat and then we get to fall asleep by 5 PM. It can also be the worst of holidays. After to head to work on Thursday night because the mall has to open. You have to cook food for a bunch of people you would rather not spend the day with. Whatever ever your scenario is, we here at AFJ love you and hope that your Turkey Day is at least somewhat enjoyable. To ensure a little bit of joy here are 10 genre Thanksgiving episodes of shows that are available to you. Now, of course, there are the Friends and How I Met Your Mother episodes which are classics. Let us also not forget the Cheers where they all head to Carla’s. With those being mentioned, here are a few episodes that are on a different spectrum and outside your norm.

Check JustWatch.com. to find the following episodes availablity. This website is probably the best gift we can give you!

The Real Ghostbusters - “The Revenge of Murray the Mantis” (Season 2, Episode 36)

The Ghostbusters have to save the Thanksgiving Day Parade and call upon an old foe, The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, to do so.

The A-Team - “Family Reunion" (Season 5, Episode 8)

The A-Team set out on another mission to reunite two family members, however, one member of the team may be connected to this mission more than they would like.

Young Indiana Jones Chronicles - "Peking, March 1910" (Season 2, Episode 17)
This one might be a tad tough to find as Old Indy (George Hall) has been completely wiped from the DVD releases. Old Indy regales his great-grandchildren with what happened to him as boy (played by Corey Carrier) in Peking. The DVD has the story but lacks the wrap around with the old Henry Jones, Jr.

The Incredible Hulk - “Homecoming" (Season 3, Episode 8)

David Banner (Bill Bixby) finds himself at home with his sister, Helen (Diana Muldaur), on the holiday only to get involved with protecting his family farm from an evil land developer. The Incredible Hulk is a fine one-time episode here and there show, watching it all on a whole, just highlights how many missed opportunities the series had.

Amazing Stories - “Thanksgiving" (Season 2, Episode 9)

This is a fantastic episode of Amazing Stories with that right bit of wonder and weirdness. Dora (Kyra Sedgwick) and her father Calvin (David Carradine) discover a whole that produces riches for them. However, what they discover is what is on the other end only likes certain "tasty" things.

Arrow  - “Thanksgiving" (Season 6, Episode 7)

As Oliver (Stephen Amell) gets ready to celebrate the holiday the Black Siren (Katie Cassidy) returns to make a mess of things. You know, nothing says "Thanksgiving" like a good fight.

Quantum Leap - "The Leap Home" (Part 1 & 2) (Season 3, Episode 1)

There isn't a better two-part episode of Quantum Leap than "The Leap Home". Sam Beckett (Scott Bakula) attempts to save different members of his family when he first leaps into his younger self then into a Navy Seal who is stationed with his brother in Vietnam. Both episodes evoke the best in family and the love we have for those we hold most dear.

The Munsters - "Low-Cal Munster" (Season 1, Episode 6)

Herman (Fred Gwynne) is planning on attending his Army Units reunion and does not fit into his old uniform. He goes on a crash diet which happens to have its last day on Thanksgiving.

Dexter - “Hungry Man”  (Season 4, Episode 9)

Dexter (Michael C. Hall) has Thanksgiving, under a different guise, with the Trinity Serial Killer's (John Lithgow) family to observe the balance he has in the hopes of learning how to adapt it to his own life with Rita.

Smallville - "Rage" (Season 6, Episode 7)

All right, perhaps not the best episode of Smallville and it is slightly tainted by Allison Mack's conviction. Even with that being said, if we look closer, just how many of these characters slept with one another on this show? Perhaps this is a better one to skip (in short we needed the tenth one to round out the list).
