2017 was a great year for games, and so far, 2018’s line-up is looking just as good. While there are some big sequels in store for us later in the year, but what really has me excited is a game set to release early this year: WarGroove.
Developed by Chucklefish, a London based company; Wargroove immediately caught my attention because it reminded me of the turn-based strategy games I used to play all the time, like Fire Emblem and Advanced Wars. It does go beyond these games with the added feature of being able to create your own maps. As a former Tabletop Miniature gamer, (Warmachine and a little Warhammer) this is exciting. So I can get the tabletop game experience without the super expensive miniatures and the physical maps, which if you want them to look good it takes forever to build? I’m sold.
Now, for people like me who no longer have a handheld gaming system, Wargroove will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. (One more thing: The music is epic.)
