Welcome to AFJ's 31 Days of Horror Figures. For the month of October, we will be spotlighting the very best of the macabre, bizarre, monstrous, and villainous action figures the industry has to offer. There will be both old and new figures here and perhaps even a significance to why we picked that figure for that day (and perhaps not). AFJ has a few figures sharing one day during these "31 Days of Horror Figures". The Stranger Things Kids, The Thing's Things, and the Marvel Legends Monsters set. We are pulling this one out of his box set and giving him Day 20. The Invisible Man, in Black and White, is from Diamond Selects Toys' The Universal Monsters Legacy Series 3 Box Set. That set alone had three great figures. Here we have the Invisible Man, Lon Chaney's Phantom of the Opera, and This Island Earth's Metaluna Mutant. The odd part about this set is that Claude Rains' Dr. Jack Griffin is the only one of three to stay in Black and White for his film. Both Chaney's Phantom and Metaluna either had color parts or were in color.
Now, if you want him color, The Invisible Man, or prefer not to have him with the others, or cannot break up a set as gorgeous as this one, there was a Toys R Us Exclusive version (pictured below). This set is already 5 years old however, it has stayed close to its initial $50.00 price tag. Perhaps by set 3, the horror fans weren't buying figures over again? Regardless, this is still a great figure in a great set. We just like what we like, Junkies.
