Welcome to AFJ's 31 Days of Horror Figures. For the month of October, we will be spotlighting the very best of the macabre, bizarre, monstrous, and villainous action figures the industry has to offer. There will be both old and new figures here and perhaps even a significance to why we picked that figure for that day (and perhaps not). This is NOT a ranking list, just full blown horror fun for the greatest month of the year. #AFJ4LIE
On this day, in 1981, Halloween II (1981) debuted in theaters. Our pick, for the second to last "31 Days of Horror Figures", is Mezco's ONE:12 Collective Michael Myers. We know, we know, this ONE:12 is for the first film, but since the first sequel debuted on this day and it is a continuation of that movie, we thought this Michael was as close as we were going to get.
It seems strange that One:12 of Michael Myers would even need this much articulation. He is pretty basic in his attack moves. Then again, Mezco gave Frankenstein the One:12 treatment, so why not this generations boogeyman? For us, the clothes make the man, as well as the brilliant assortment of accessories. The icing on the cake is that the pumpkin actually lights up.
This Michael Myers, and there have been several on our list, is a true gem of the action figure world and one that should be celebrated every season. Mezco did include a Ghost Costume, so there goes a variant for next year. Perhaps, just perhaps, we'll see the 2018 version before the next inevitable sequel arrives.
