WOW. The DCEU news has been crazy in the past 24 hours. Undoubtedly you have seen the reports and stories throughout the web. Here are the bullet points (or olives as the Millenials call them now).

Matt Reeves' "The Batman" Gets a Release Date and a New Batman
The story circulating now is that Matt Reeves' will feature a younger Batman. This means Ben Affleck is out. Since this news surfaced, Affleck has confirmed that he is done wearing the cowl. Full story HERE on The Hollywood Reporter.
Release Date: June 25, 2021
Affleck's concedes the cowl via Twitter:

James Gunn will Direct Suicide Squad 2
The former Marvel (MCU) Alumni will now helm the follow up to 2016's Suicide Squad. The other big news is that Zack Snyder will produce the film (Batman v Superman). Full story HERE on The Hollywood Reporter.
Release Date: August 2021

AFJ's Take: Finally, we have a definitive answer on Ben Affleck playing Batman in another movie and that answer is no. He should have never taken the role, to begin with. James Gunn officially moving onto the Suicide Squad seems appropriate. It will be interesting to see if Will Smith (Dead Shot) and Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) come back. The word is now that it will be a new cast.
The rumor floating out there, right now, that we are super excited for, is that Warner Bros. is looking at Batman Beyond movie. Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse did very well, so they (which is just typical of DC Entertainment) are looking to follow suit. Where they, the DCEU, can go really bold is by not making it animated, but a live-action Batman film, set in the future, with the one true live-action Batman in the role, Michael Keaton. If they go animated, why not bring back the original cast (Kevin Conroy and Will Friedle), over the flavor of the month actors supplying the voices.  #AFJ4LIFE
